The Synchrony Emerging Technology Center located at UIUC’s Research Park focuses on advancing our internal capabilities in artificial intelligence, data science, and other emerging technology domains to create long-term value for our customers. The interns in the program will work closely with our Innovation Station and SMEs to deliver projects for our business stakeholders. Projects can range across multiple disciplines such as basic market and technology research, big data analytics, proof-of-concept creation, data visualization, and software development. During the summer, each intern is provided with project work that is important to our business, and we’ll look to you to challenge us and contribute to driving innovation for our future. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE/SERVICE DESIGN PERSONALIZATION & TOUCH GOVERNANCE INITIATIVE: In the Customer Experience Internship at Synchrony, you’ll work closely with our teams to identify and implement breakthrough changes. Depending on the background and business priorities the intern will apply her/his/their technical and problem-solving skills to one or several projects: Work on specialized projects to help Synchrony further our capabilities in Technology, Data, Enterprise Operations, and more. Work within Agile teams to perform discovery, prioritize work, and identify opportunities to make large-scale changes. Provide virtual workshop support and remote unmoderated survey and remote moderated behavioral research development. Co-create sessions, data synthesis and analysis of workshop and research data Provide a flexible, can-do mindset that will adjust to new projects quickly and help execute key initiatives within the organization. Empowers to innovate by helping consumers and employees to rewrite and restructure the story of their service experience, modernize operations and organizational structures, and create a greater value for everyone who participates in a service. Clearly and concisely synthesize and analyze both quant/qual data and insights to help drive design decisions and iterations, with guidance from senior designers and stakeholders Use frameworks, workshops, and artifacts to bring individuals along and align on the overall experience and strategy. Visualize experience/ecosystem maps, user journeys and service blueprints, interaction models, process flows, storyboards and prototypes. Frame and tell the story of design solutions. Present the communication of research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually. Bring passion and energy to shift from a product mindset to a service and platform mindset Work on a pre-defined program and project. The internship will be spent working side by side with Synchrony teams where you will apply your theoretical knowledge to complete challenging projects.
