Responsibilities Design and develop advanced electronic components with a focus on electrical, thermal, mechanical and reliability performance. Qualifications Must be currently pursuing a masters or PhD degree at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Electrical Engineering Proficiency in EDA tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro, Virtuoso Layout suite, Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Altium). Understanding of signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and thermal management techniques in electronics design. Experience with simulation and modeling tools (e.g., ANSYS, HFSS, HSPICE, SiWave) for thermal, electrical, and mechanical analysis. About the Research Park Research Park is a technology hub for corporate operations focusing on innovative and cutting-edge research and development. Within the park, we also host events for EnterpriseWorks which is an award-winning incubator that focuses on science and research-based start-up companies commercializing technology from the University of Illinois. We have a multi-faceted team of professionals and interns dedicated to helping our startups and corporations thrive. About the Role What You Will Do The Events Intern assists in the implementation of over 200 events annually, including small to mid-size workshops, social & networking gatherings, corporate development & grand openings, and large-scale conferences. You will work alongside our events team to execute events to ensure that the flow runs smoothly and that our team is ready to troubleshoot any issues that arise with the venue, vendors or attendees. You will help organize activities, set up decorations and make sure all logistics are completed on time. Some events may require you to work outside of standard work hours and to take the lead in setting up and tearing down. You will need to have strong communication skills to interact with other interns who specialize in graphics, communications, multimedia, etc. to ensure that the event is a success. You will also utilize multiple software programs to manage event promotion, registration, and attendance tracking.
