About the Role Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer on the Data & Analytics Platforms team within its Enterprise Data & Analytics organization. This position is located full-time on site at the University of Illinois Research Park in Champaign, IL. As a Data Engineer specializing in data and analytics solutions, you will work with a diverse cross-functional team whose objective is to deliver solutions that drive business value for Dow. Recent solutions include carbon visibility, plastics circularity, and sales opportunities utilizing our enterprise data ecosystem. In this role, you will focus on ingestion, persistence, and curation of data as defined by specific projects. As this is a Research Park role, part of the expectation of this role will be to manage the onboarding process and provide ongoing coaching of college interns.  You will work closely with a global, multi-disciplinary team to: Create data pipelines for projects in the Azure environment. Design, develop, test, and implement analytic and reporting solutions. This includes the curation and ingestion of data from different source systems, driving end-to-end data flow for multiple solutions. Responsibilities Owns the development and deployment of solutions enabling data ingestion, storage, and consumption across Dow’s enterprise data platforms (Azure-based) . Responsibilities The Accountant I is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day financial and accounting functions, including cash management, preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements, job cost accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. The Accountant I organizes and provides materials needed by others for preparing taxes and conducting audits. The Accountant I is also responsible for carrying out the invoicing process each month on a timely basis and for administering established processes for collecting outstanding receivables. The Accountant I may oversee, coordinate, or review the work of an accounting assistant responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable entries. Specific duties include the following: Administering the company’s accounting functions under the direction of the Finance Director and in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), utilizing generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and procedures to complete assignments. Adhere to and maintain the schedule for accounting activities. Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the accounting system and protecting against loss. Recommending and implementing approved strategies for improving the integrity and usefulness of the accounting system; developing and implementing approved strategies for maintaining good cash flow; striving to reduce the receivable cycle; preparing summaries of cash flow projections. Preparing invoices in accordance with client requirements or preferences; facilitating processes necessary for project manager review of invoices; customizing project detail information for engineers to assist with draft invoicing. Coordinating annual audits and preparing information in anticipation of the audits; assisting independent auditors as needed; recommending changes based on the audit results. Providing information needed by APTech’s outside accountant for tax preparation or for calculating depreciation of fixed assets; providing other financial information as needed. Requirements The Accountant I is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all accounting functions for APTech. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, very organized, and comfortable interacting with project engineers and senior management regarding accounting and financial matters. Position requirements include: B.S. in Accounting from an accredited university. Practical experience in a professional environment preferred. Strong communicator, verbal and written. Willingness to learn and take direction. Demonstrated ability to work independently and assume increasing responsibility.
