On March 2, 2020, Research Park held a career fair to connect Park employers with students from the University of Illinois. Multiple job opportunities are open year-round, and students from any major and discipline are invited to apply. The Research Park Career Fair helps form connections between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Champaign-Urbana area, and the Research Park.

The construction of the I-Hotel and Conference Center expansion,  1907 S. Fourth Street, and the Greenhouse continue throughout the summer. The expected completion time is by Fall 2020.

The Research Park would not be the same without the 800+ interns who bring their ideas into the startups and Fortune 500s who are housed in the Park. Congratulations to the Class of 2020 – we look forward to what you all will accomplish in the years to come!

Genective recently opened its new world headquarters at the University of Illinois Research Park; with it, the grand opening was celebrated by the University, Genective, and their partners with the hopes of leading the way in innovation and research. With entities and activities in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, Genective is currently dedicated to the research, development, and commercialization of transgenic traits. On March 4, 2020, the Agriculture Technology Innovation Summit 2020 highlighted the AgTech located within the University of Illinois Research Park. The Park houses multiple corporate innovation centers, including Bayer, John Deere Tech Innovation Center, ADM Modeling Center, and Country Financial DigitaLab. AgTech startups such as EarthSense, LifeFoundry, and IntelinAir also participate in this event. Mark your calendar for this year’s summit to hear about the continuous AgTech developments at the Research Park.

Cargill opened its state-of-the-art Innovation Lab at the University of Illinois Research Park. Every day, they connect farmers with markets, customers with ingredients, and people and animals with the food they need to thrive. Procter & Gamble recently opened its state-of-the-art Smart Lab at the University of Illinois Research Park. The University, Procter & Gamble, and their partners celebrated the grand opening of the Smart Lab, which will bring together interdisciplinary teams of students from a wide variety of backgrounds to rapidly prototype and innovate in the space of consumer insights. Lab students will work directly with P&G employees to move consumer research projects from concept to execution within weeks rather than months. For more information, visit P&G

The University of Illinois Research Park, sent staff and student representatives to the International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) Resource Fair from August 16 to August 20, 2019. Student attendees were able to ask questions about available opportunities at the 120+ companies of the Park and hear about upcoming events.

OUTSIDE at the Research Park on July 19, 2019, was co-hosted by the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Zécca Bom and Alma Afrobeat Ensemble kept the crowd energized with a mix of funk, m’balax, and hip hop, and food trucks like Sidney Dairy Barn’s Moo Mobile and Chester’s BBQ provided great food. Visitors of the Research Park table helped beautify the Park by drawing what they’d like to see added on its campus, like more bike trails, flower gardens, and ice cream stands.
