EnterpriseWorks & University of Illinois Research Park Human Resources and Outreach Intern Join our team for an opportunity to manage interpersonal relationships, develop your decision-making skills, and work with diverse people in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment! The Human Resources and Outreach Intern will be part of the University of Illinois Research Park and EnterpriseWorks team to support the growth of the workforce in the Research Park. The position will directly assist internal efforts with a wide range of projects related to planning and recruiting, management and strategy, programming, and event planning in the progression of a talent pipeline, and the development of new initiatives and programs that retain and grow the technology workforce in the Research Park. Who we are Research Park is a technology hub for corporate operations focusing on innovative, cutting-edge research and development. EnterpriseWorks is an award-winning incubator at the Research Park that focuses on science and research-based start-up companies commercializing technology from the University of Illinois. We have a multifaceted team of professionals and interns dedicated to helping our startups and corporations thrive in the Research Park. Our previous interns have gone on to work at companies including but not limited to: Google, Facebook, IBM, PepsiCo, Goldman Sachs, Denodo, Allstate, Yelp, Solstice, and Surface 51.   What You’ll Do As a Human Resource and Outreach Intern, you will be responsible for various internal and external projects for Research Park and EnterpriseWorks. One of the main responsibilities will be managing and organizing the entire hiring process of the internal Research Park Intern Team which includes updating and promoting the positions, updating online application forms, screening applications, tracking applicants, and leading interviews. Other duties include but are not limited to maintaining the Research Park Job Board, representing the Research Park and its 120+ companies at multiple Career Fairs and campus recruiting events, updating the internal Research Park Intern Onboarding Manual and Company Recruitment Guide, and assisting in running Research Park events. The Human Resources and Outreach Intern will also work closely with the internal Research Park Intern Team to cultivate an engaging and valuable internship experience for the semester. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently without much oversight, and have excellent communication, organization, and management skills. It is essential to have interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with EnterpriseWorks staff and student interns.   This position will begin training during Fall 2022 and continue part-time through Spring 2023 at a minimum of 10 hours per week. Upon successful performance review, this internship can continue through the summer and in future semesters. Eligibility Requirements: You must meet these requirements to be eligible to apply for this internship. Graduation date of May 2023 or later Must be a full-time enrolled student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign at the time of employment Must be available to begin training immediately during the Fall 2022 semester at a minimum of 10 hours/week Qualifications: Previous HR experience or demonstrated ability to successfully manage and organize teams (this can be through a student organization or other organization) Strong initiative and leadership skills Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to work on a deadline, handle multiple projects, think creatively, and adapt quickly in fast-paced environments and team setting   Nice to have: Students from the School of Labor and Employer Relations or Human Resource Development preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency in Webtools and WordPress   For your application, please prepare the following: Resume Cover letter explaining how your experience makes you a good fit for this position Sample of your project organization and tracking process Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, we are looking to fill this position as soon as possible Compensation: Hourly wage will be $14.00 per hour. Job Description: This position will work to improve process modeling efficiency, accuracy, and capability for application to critical Caterpillar steel components.  Projects will center primarily around heat treat process modeling on steels with some exposure to forming and casting modeling.  The candidate will work with process simulation software and provide code to model and predict steel microstructures, mechanical properties, and residual stresses resulting from various heat treatments at a full component level.
