The team is seeking 3-5 iOS Mobile App Developers to work with full-time Business Analysts/Consultants and developers to design and prototype a mobile app that will “centralize” different application systems used at different clinical trial sites into a one-stop app. Clinical trial monitors currently have to toggle and search up to 15 different application systems during clinical trial site visits to look up required information. This is extremely time consuming. The goal of creating a one-stop app is to reduce the amount of time clinical trial monitors spend looking up separate apps during those visits. Major duties include: Understand end-user needs and develop an app that will centralize the different applications currently used in clinical trial monitoring. Collaborate with other student developers, full time developers, and business analysts/consultants to prototype various options for testing. Your Responsibilities Work with other engineers to define and develop the engineering requirements of electric drive components and systems (Electric drive components include motors, generators, active rectifiers, inverters, convertors, batteries, high voltage wiring, and connectors. Electric drive systems include traction systems, secondary drive systems, power management systems, auxiliary drives, and precision control systems.) Design electric drive system interfaces and specify the related vehicle systems to meet the vehicle requirements Complete technical analysis and physical testing of electric drive components (including electric machines, power conversion electronics, and harnesses) Design motor control and system control algorithms for electric drives and vehicles, and simulate electric drive systems and vehicle systems to virtually verify performance prior to hardware being available Create presentations and technical reports suitable for long-term archiving Participate in team meetings What Skills You Need Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in an engineering discipline; others may apply Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited college/university Graduation date of December of 2023 or later Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (3.4 or higher preferred) Available to work during the academic year 10-15 hours/weekly Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly Must be able to commute to the work location in Champaign, Illinois, on a regular basis year-round (or option to work in Moline, IL during summer) Course work or hands-on experience with electrical power, energy conversion, power electronics, electric machines, or controls Strong communication skills, both written and verbal What Makes You Stand Out Participation in hands on projects in electric drive or vehicle engineering related areas like the Illini EV Concept team, SAE Electric Team, SAE Formula Team, SAE Baja Team, etc Course work or experience in agricultural related areas Experience using Matlab/Simulink tools to complete complex analysis tasks and/or dynamic system modeling Experience analyzing CAN bus data Experience using 3D modeling tools What You’ll Get At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
