Company Name: AbbVie Position Title: Business Operations Specialist (AbbVie Innovation Center) Status: Undergraduate/Graduate Hourly Hours per week: 12 – 15 during academic year 35 – 40 during summer semester Contact Email: innovationcenter@abbvie.com Position Description: This position would be working within AbbVie’s Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM)’s Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) group. GRC provides a structured approach for aligning IT with business objectives, while effectively managing risk and meeting compliance requirements for AbbVie businesses. The System Delivery Services (SDS) team within GRC is an internal consulting service that helps plan and execute software delivery projects, which may include guidance on the System Life Cycle (SLC), software development process, document management, and coordination activities. SDS offers an extended service that includes pre-SLC activities, analysis, and testing services to ensure application changes are completed and documented in accordance with AbbVie IT and Quality Assurance policies. The SDS team is looking for an intern to join their group starting Spring 2023 and continue through Summer 2023, subject to performance. This position will expose students to varied operations projects and tasks, from project management to business analytics to personnel management and would be ideal for students with some technical acumen interested in a future career as an analyst. Main responsibilities would include: · Perform training administration responsibilities, including assignment of training to employees, learning management system (LMS) administration, reconciliations, ensuring training matrix is current and accurate in partnership with PSM Compliance, and enhancements to the system. · Support new hire training logistics to ensure an effective onboarding process. · Developing workflow charts · Supporting the ISRM intake form · Working with project data to perform analytics and report metrics Required Qualifications: · Registered as a full-time, undergraduate student · Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, or equivalent · Must be able to commit to a regular schedule during standard business hours (8 AM – 5 PM, Central Time) · Developed project management skills · Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and experience using these skills within a business environment · Creative problem solver with ability to understand large picture but who will focus on details · Willingness to collaborate and actively engage in independent learning and open discussion · Experience utilizing Outlook, Microsoft Office applications as well as general technical competence with office tools and applications · Capable problem-solver with experience handling multiple responsibilities and deadlines in previous roles · Previous work experience that required organization and timeliness on tasks that have hard deadlines · Previous work experience that had spontaneous workflow that was adapted to and completed successfully · Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment · Authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship Preferred Qualifications: · Interest in learning Visio, or other flowcharting applications · Experience with advanced excel, analytics or other metrics reporting platforms (e.g. Tableau, Power Bi) · Interest in the documentation process and Software Life Cycle Note: The position will be hired through a third-party hiring agency and will begin Spring 2023 semester with an option to continue through summer and following academic year (subject to student performance and funding).
