ADM Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Internship Position ADM is looking for an intern to model/simulate transport phenomena in equipment for unit operations that are part of both existing and under-development process technologies. These models would be complementing both experimental and other related modeling efforts to analyze complex problems involving fluid-fluid, fluid-solid and/or fluid-gas interactions and their resulting effects on heat and mass transfer. This information will allow researchers in the Research Process Development Group (RPDG) to, optimize and verify design concepts for facilitating improved equipment and process performance in the field. Job Description Familiarity/ Prior Exposure to one or more areas of numerical methods including finite volume, finite difference or finite element methods on structured or unstructured grids. Modeling Center Intern for ADM at Research Park Position Summary This role will use engineering expertise to create computational models of industrial-scale chemical and biochemical processes that are of current interest to ADM. These models will predict the behavior of unit operations involved in the production of bio-based foods and chemicals or other agricultural-based products that are currently used in the chemical process industry. Candidates should be proficient at applying chemical engineering principles and knowledge to solve real-life, industrial-scale plant operation and process development challenges. They will use modeling languages and environments, such as Aspen Plus suite, Excel, Crystal Ball, Python, and Visual Basic. The models will be used for process optimization and cost estimation, and they will help to guide process development design and decision-making. The position also involves extensive communication, both written and verbal, with other scientists and engineers at various ADM locations. This is a minimum of a six (6) month position. The internship may extend beyond the 6-month period if interest, performance and business need allow. Eligibility Requirements: You must meet these requirements to be eligible for this internship.  Graduation date of May 2024 or later  Must be a full-time enrolled student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign at the time of employment Must be available to work 40 hours/week during Summer 2023    Qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills  Ability to tell a great story in multiple formats and lengths (e.g. photos, video clips, and words) Understanding of internet and social media marketing best practices Experience in multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn Excellent proofreading and editing skills; strong attention to detail Good project management and time management skills/work within the structure Ability to work in fast-paced environments and balance multiple projects Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within the scope Maintain clear communications with management on project status  Nice to have Experience with Webtools, Hootsuite  Ability to edit web content through WordPress   Practical writing experience outside of the classroom Seeking at least one candidate that is familiar with Agriculture to adequately communicate the advances in Agricultural Technology being produced by many of the companies at Research Park.
