Bioinformatics Analyst (AIC Student Co-op Program) – AbbVie

The Population Cohorts team within the Computational Genomics group at AbbVie’s Genomics Research Center (GRC) seeks to use genetic variation linked to human disease for prioritization and evaluation of drug targets. The team also exploits our expertise in statistics, computer science, and large data analysis to deliver important results in accessible formats for collaborations spanning AbbVie’s therapeutic interests. We are interested in a student who could support specific projects related to statistics, machine learning, computational biology, and results visualization and delivery. The Synchrony Emerging Technology Center located at UIUC’s Research Park focuses on advancing our internal capabilities in artificial intelligence, data science, and other emerging technology domains to create long-term value for our customers. The interns in the program will work closely with our Innovation Station and SMEs to deliver projects for our business stakeholders. Projects can range across multiple disciplines such as basic market and technology research, big data analytics, proof-of-concept creation, data visualization, and software development. This position is for an immediate need at University of Illinois’ Research Park, working as a Rivian employee on Rivian projects. Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between Fall 2023 through Fall 2025. Are you ready to join Rivian’s Electrical Hardware team? for someone to lead development of the software infrastructure related to our system level validation test suite. The systems involved include the infotainment and vehicle access systems, including the sentry cameras system, connectivity, telematics, entertainment, and more. Responsibilities Scripting in python for build test automation infrastructure C coding in the embedded firmware to enable test hooks Working with testing data pipeline, including logging, spreadsheeting, data processing and presentation, etc. Remotely connecting to our bench, labcar, and test vehicles to develop, debug, and execute their software Qualifications Enrolled in a Bachelors, Master’s or PhD program from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Required experience with H/W embedded systems Familiarity with embedded F/W development such as tool chains, consoles etc. is required. Coding experience with Matlab or Python (or similar programming language, required.
