CME’s Technology Summer Internship program offers students opportunities to learn more about CME’s business, our role in the financial industry, and the types of technology that keeps our markets running. In the past, our interns have worked on building cloud infrastructure, researching blockchain technologies, and taking ownership of new applications that can change the trading lifecycle. We are focused on designing, building and deploying customer focused solutions with passion and precision. Individuals are expected to be in the Innovation Center most days. There is some travel to the Chicago Office expected/included. The internship is 12 weeks and will likely run Wednesday, May 24 – Wednesday, August 9th.

Graduate Intern – FrostDefense

FrostDefense is actively searching for two enthusiastic graduate students, with a preference for those pursuing a Ph.D., to become valuable additions to our team. These positions are ready for an immediate start and are slated to continue until June 2024, with an expected weekly commitment of approximately 10 hours per intern. Our company, FrostDefense Envirotech Inc., has pioneered innovative technology designed to mitigate spring frost damage in vineyards and orchards. Additionally, we have developed a decision support system that aids growers in the application of our product and assists them in making informed decisions regarding frost risk mitigation on their farms. The interns will play a crucial role in this area. To ensure the success of these positions, we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications: Desired Skills and Experience: Educational Background: A background in mathematics, statistics or similar. Crop sciences,  and or biology would be a significant asset. Knowledge and Experience in:  experimental design and analysis, statistical modeling and analysis, risk analysis, and decision-making. Familiarity with climate data science will be a valuable advantage. Programming Skills:  in Python, R, or similar programming languages is preferred. App Development: The application development team focuses on designing, building, and implementing software applications for many internal Ameren projects Technology: The technology team will work in the physical space to implement innovative battery, solar and robotic technology to contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions for our customers. iOps: The iOps team leads the internal side of the iCenter and removes all barriers that the other teams may face. Marketing the iCenter to potential applicants and internal management falls under the job description for the iOps team. Position Description:  Information Research (IR) is the technology group that supports businesses across AbbVie R&D value chain. IR Academic Partnerships embeds students within AbbVie businesses to collaborate on projects that help advance our science. During the regular fall and winter/spring terms, this program is designed for students to work 12-15 hours/week in parallel with their school schedule. During the summer, students are expected to work 35-40 hours/week. This project would support the Operations & Enterprise Systems (OES) organization, which is responsible for developing automations and integrations for Jira, Confluence and associated Atlassian add-ons to improve the efficiency of the OES organization. OES is looking for an intern to support their OES Digital Delivery Pipeline tool project, which aims to design, engineer, and implement technology solutions that solve business problems. Working collaboratively with technology teams, the intern would help improve Jira and Confluence tools that drive productivity and efficiency gains for technology teams at AbbVie. Major duties include: Design, develop, document and implement technology solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. Serve as technical resource to develop, test and implement new capabilities, or operational improvements. Resolve technical problems using analytical problem-solving methods/techniques and associated tools/devices. Demonstrate proficiency with Atlassian technologies (Jira, Confluence, ScriptRunner, Big Picture, Tempo, Comala etc) including configuring, scripting, programming, integrating, data analysis and visualization tools.
