Founders Week 2024 Research Park hosted its inaugural Founders Week celebration from October 17-19, 2024. This event celebrated our collective achievements in entrepreneurship, highlighting innovative ecosystems that foster groundbreaking ventures, empower countless entrepreneurs, and define the future of Illini Entrepreneurship. Participants included Illini Angels (alumni in angel investing and venture capital), angel groups, investors actively supporting startups in Illinois, entrepreneurship ecosystem leaders, faculty, and students interested in entrepreneurship.

2024 Intern Awards On Thursday, July 25, the Research Park celebrated the 18th annual Summer Intern Awards Ceremony and Picnic. Six awards were presented to student interns from across the Park’s 120+ companies to honor and recognize them for their outstanding work. This summer, interns impacted Research Park companies through diligence, hard work, and innovation. Thank you to the managers and supervisors who nominated their interns, and congratulations to all of the winners and finalists. 2024 Table Tennis Tournament The 13th Annual Research Park Table Tennis Tournament was on Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10. The results of Round-Robin games on day one were used to seed participants for the single-elimination tournament played on day two. In these games, companies were awarded points based on the placing of their players, leading to Synchrony securing the Golden Paddle Trophy for the first time in tournament history. Research Park Hackathon 2024 The 2024 Research Park Hackathon took place on Wednesday, June 26, and was Bring Your Own Data-themed. Teams had fifteen hours to create a project that seamlessly integrated data in an innovative way. Finalists presented their projects to a panel of judges on Thursday, June 27, and winners were announced at Fire At Five later that evening.
