CHAMPAIGN – Steven Wolfram, founder and CEO of Wolfram Research, toured the EnterpriseWorks building on June 10. Wolfram met with several startups that are tenants at EnterpriseWorks, including IntelliWheels (pictured above Paralympian Josh George).

IntelliWheels, winner of the local Champaign-Urbana InnovateHER competition, pitched its Tinker digital wheelchair configurator as one of the top 10 female-focused innovations in the nation on March 17.

Five of the Forbes 30 Under 30 have ties with the University of Illinois. Of these five, two are cofounders of companies in EnterpriseWorks. Scott Daigle is the cofounder of Intelliwheels, which, "has attracted $2 million in growth capital to date".


CHAMPAIGN, IL, December 8, 2015 – Yesterday, ChicagoInno released a list of 10 startups to watch in Illinois based outside Chicago. Of the ten, four companies are based right here in Champaign-Urbana.

CHAMPAIGN, IL, Aug. 4, 2014  -- A $1.5-million grant will enable IntelliWheels, Inc. to advance development of ultra-lightweight, multi-geared wheels for manual wheelchairs. This new innovation will further wheelchair functionality, allowing manual wheelchair users to be more physically active and increase their independence, health and well-being.

Research Park employees are well represented among the 2013 Central Illinois Business "40 Under 40" honorees, which was announced on Aug. 4. The winners will be recognized at a luncheon on October 3. 

Winners with Research Park connections include:Marissa Seibel, IntelliWheels. Marissa, who is the co-founder and vice president of marketing for IntelliWheels, was named 2013 Woman of the Year.
