RIPE Crop Transformation Facility

The RIPE Crop Transformation Facility provides lab and office space for Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency (RIPE).

The Crop Transformation Facility (CTF) was built and completed in August 2020, located across the street from the High-Throughput Phenotyping Facility (HTPF). Located  commercial office building was designed to provide lab and office space for researchers and crop technicians. More photos of the CTF can be accessed here.

RIPE is a research project for sustainable increases in crop yield, led by Illinois researchers Steve Long and Don Ort. RIPE is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research, and the UK Government’s Department for International Development.
