Iridescent Sensors has developed a handheld analyzer for colorimetric sensor arrays that have a wide range of demonstrated applications in a diverse set of markets. Colorimetric sensor arrays are a powerful and general method for the identification and classification of odors, complex chemical mixtures, and toxic gases. An array of chemically-responsive dyes, pigments and colorants is digitally imaged before and during exposure to the analytes of interest: the changes in the colors of each of the spots represents a unique molecular fingerprint of the odor.
