As a part of our part-time program, you’ll be expected to work 15-to-20 hours per week during the school year, and 40 hours per week during the summer. Ascent Architectural Engineer Intern

About the Position Ascent is hiring an Architectural Engineer to work on its Satellite Image Structural Mapping Tool, which will be used to predict the internal configuration of structures such as buildings by only using external satellite photographs of the building taken from various angles. Using the shape, size, and external characteristics of the building (such as the number and spacing of windows), the desired methodology should be able to produce a model of the building to include basic structure system (frame vs. load-bearing systems), the construction materials and likely material properties, structural detailing, and any other feature responsible for the overall structural strength of the building. About Ascent Ascent Integrated Tech, an EnterpriseWorks company, builds technology to bring first responders home safely to their families. Required Qualifications Ideally, this person is a Senior Undergraduate or Graduate student, familiar with Building Design and Building Information Modeling (BIM) Software (such as Revit, SketchUp, Archicad, MicroStation, or Blender). FrostDefense Data Analyst Internship

FrostDefense Envirotech Data Analyst Internship FrostDefense is a National Science Foundation-funded startup company that is developing innovative, environmentally friendly, and low-cost technological solutions for the prevention of early spring frost damage in vineyards. Part of our effort to help growers make informed decisions include the development of a platform using predictive analytics. Crop development models, historical records and weather forecasts are used to provide answers to why the spray technology should be applied, when the application needs to be carried out, and which vineyard fields are at risk for damaging frost near or soon after bud break. This involves a lot of spatiotemporal datasets, model training and calibrations, and the validation of the results in-situ. As part of our team, you will have the chance to get experience with a variety of datasets and tools used by disciplines ranging from agronomy to atmospheric science and computer science. Students will work around 15 hours a week at our offices in EnterpriseWorks, the Research Park’s deep-tech incubator.
