Abbvie JavaScript Developer Intern – Spring 2022
The Innovative Chemical Technology (ICT) Team within Process Chemistry is responsible for developing solutions to complex or novel chemical transformations. This requires team members to be on the cutting edge of technology, both in the equipment and chemical spaces, in order to deliver impact to the AbbVie pipeline. Major duties include: Develop Node-Red coding interface between laboratory equipment and iControl (Mettler Toledo) utilizing OPC UA communications. Assist efforts to create a connected lab environment using Node-Red and build custom dashboards for each lab setting and needs. Qualifications: Must be registered as a full-time student Must be able to commit to a regular schedule during standard business hours Undergraduate student in Computer Science or related fields Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, or equivalent 12 – 15 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters Creative problem solver with ability to understand larger picture but who will focus on details Willingness to collaborate and actively engage in independent learning and open discussion Ability to design and deliver clean and usable and responsive user interface Experience with JavaScript Preferred Skills: Authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship Familiarity with ASCII and hexadecimal Note: The position will be hired through a third-party hiring agency and will begin as soon as possible over the current semester with an option to continue through the upcoming academic year.
