Genective, a JV between two leading global seeds companies, Limagrain and KWS, is seeking a result-oriented, science centric and yet stakeholder savvy Head of Protein Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will help to shape and develop a fast-growing Protein Biochemistry & Molecular Biology team and play a key role in scientific excellence of Genective. This position reports to VP of Research, Chief Science Officer (CSO) of Genective and is a member of Genective’s Research Leadership Team (RLT). The primary working location is Genective’s global Headquarters in Champaign, IL while occasional work at the field research facility in Weldon, IL may be required. Minimal domestic travel beyond the two locations and international travel may be required from time to time. The Position The Head of Protein Biochemistry & Molecular Biology plays a key role, as part of the R&D team, in developing and executing the overarching corporate strategy, R&D’s functional strategy, and strategies of other functions in Genective. Operation-wise, The Head of Protein Biochemistry & Molecular Biology is responsible for building and leading the Protein Biochemistry & Molecular Biology team with a focus on people development, results delivery and scientific excellence. The successful candidate will lead, coordinate, and perform hands-on duties when needed for selection, production, characterization and detection target insecticidal proteins across the Genective R&D pipeline.
