Operations Specialist Student – Procter & Gamble Smart Lab – Fall 2022

We impact about 5 billion – yes, you read that right – lives on a regular basis. We are building a place where we can ask some interesting questions about consumer behaviors, habits, and practices. Our work in the Smart Lab is breaking boundaries in the consumer behavior space. We’re using sensors and smart devices to study what people do. Think about it – would you remember how many sheets of toilet paper you used last Thursday? Most people wouldn’t. That’s why we’re doing things a little differently. We’re looking for students who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty, repair and manage smart devices and/or coordinate shipping logistics, and overall contribute to driving core business work that will enable our Consumer and Market Knowledge function. Help us iterate, innovate, and ideate by enhancing our lab processes. You will be involved in a variety of Smart Lab tasks as they arise, with a focus on physical work. You will be a pretty good fit for this job if you have the following skills and abilities: You enjoy physical work and can lift at least 25 pounds You have a strong attention to detail, and you are organized You can work independently on repetitive tasks Excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with Microsoft Excel/Spreadsheets Experience with operations or logistics is a plus but not required Experience with tech hardware (taking things apart and putting them back together) is a plus but not required For the fall semester, you will be expected to work 10 hours a week, with possible continuation into spring – project and schedule dependent. This student will be managing office related work, assisting student contractors as needed, and will be included as a point of contact for customers visiting the Smart Lab. More specific duties and responsibilities include: Providing direct support to the Site Leader by tracking inventory, ordering office and food supplies, purchasing, receiving shipments, and reconciling records. Creating, maintaining, and managing multiple types of reports for the Smart Lab. Responsible for maintaining confidential information regarding all business work, student contractors, and other employees. Assist with coordinating events and site visits for the Smart Lab, including visits from the University of Illinois and other Procter & Gamble employees. Support the goals and objectives of the Smart Lab team by participating in other tasks as required by the Site Leader. This position involves interacting directly with the Site Leader, other P&G Management and Staff, University of Illinois Staff, Research Park Staff, Vendors, and the Public. Multimedia/Video Intern – Research Park/EW

EW/ Multimedia/Video Intern Application – Fall 2022   EnterpriseWorks & University of Illinois Research Park The Research Park hosts over 200 events annually. As a Video Intern, you will be responsible for capturing quality photos and videos of our virtual and in-house events (when they resume). You will also be tasked with editing and recapping these events, plus creating videos to promote Research Park and EnterpriseWorks as a whole. You may also be assigned projects (promotional videos/photoshoots, etc) for start-ups in the EnterpriseWorks incubator. You and a team of interns will meet with the client to discuss the project timeline and expectations. You will be responsible for determining techniques to utilize for the completion of the project. A storytelling mindset is valuable for an intern in this position to use as a frame of reference when editing footage. It is essential to coordinate effectively with EnterpriseWorks staff and clients to execute all projects to their highest potential. Upon successful performance reviews, this internship can continue through multiple semesters. Eligibility Requirements: You must meet these requirements to be eligible for this internship. Chemical Engineer Intern – ADM

Role Description Modeling Center Intern for ADM at Research Park Position Summary This role will use engineering expertise to create models of industrial chemical and biochemical processes that are of current interest to ADM! These models will predict the behavior of unit operations involved in producing bio-based foods and chemicals or other agricultural-based products currently used in the chemical process industry. Candidates should be proficient at applying chemical engineering principles and knowledge to solve real-life, industrial-scale plant operation and process development challenges. They will use modeling languages and environments, such as Aspen Plus suite, Excel, Crystal Ball, Python, and Visual Basic. The models will be used for process optimization and cost estimation, and they will help to guide process development design and decision-making. The position also involves extensive communication, both written and verbal, with other scientists and engineers at various ADM locations. This is a minimum of a six (6) month position, which may be extended due to business needs and intern performance. Full-time hours will be limited to a period of six (6) months, after which any contract extension would be limited to part-time hours (<32/week). Job Requirements The ideal candidate will have recently obtained a Chemical Engineering or similar Bachelor’s degree or will be currently enrolled as a graduate student (after obtaining a Chemical Engineering or similar degree). A candidate may also be currently enrolled with senior standing in the undergraduate Chemical Engineering curriculum in Fall 2022 or earlier.
