EarthSense-Research Park About the Role EarthSense Inc. is a leading field robotics company committed to transforming sustainable agriculture with innovative robotic solutions. Our robots empower farmers with data-driven insights, improve efficiency, and promote environmentally friendly farming practices.. We are looking for a Robotics Technician to join our manufacturing team, where you will play a crucial role in assembling, maintaining, and testing our advanced robotic systems. Additionally, you will conduct field tests to ensure quality assurance. This role involves close collaboration with engineering and design teams to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions, directly contributing to the advancement of sustainable agriculture. This is a hands-on, on-site role involving physical assembly, field testing, and occasional outdoor work. Responsibilities Build, assemble, and maintain robotic systems in accordance with company standards. Evaluate robot performance in real-world field environments and make adjustments to improve reliability and performance. Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues. Use and help maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accurate part tracking, inventory awareness, and procurement coordination. Assist in developing and implementing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and product quality. Contribute to creating and maintaining user guides, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting documentation to support both internal teams and end-users. Requirements Proven experience assembling and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems or machines. Basic understanding of electrical wiring, sensors, and motor controllers. Proficient with soldering equipment, power tools and basic machine shop equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues with a keen attention to detail. Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and basic inventory management practices. Ability to adapt to new challenges and thrive in an independent, dynamic work environment. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field locations for testing and support. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in various positions, including standing, crouching, and kneeling. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Preferred Completion of relevant trades certifications such as Electric Vehicle Fundamentals (EVF), Robotics Technician, or similar programs is highly desirable. Previous experience in the robotics or manufacturing industry. Comfort working in Linux environments (Ubuntu; basic command line/Bash a plus). Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks). Familiarity with communication protocols like RS485 and CAN.
