Dow AgroSciences Grand Opening

Dow AgroSciences opened its doors at the University of Illinois Research Park on September 28, 2015. The Dow Innovation Center, now Corteva Agriscience Innovation Center, provides information technology and information management-based solutions to drive value and accelerate discovery in the research and development organizations throughout the company. “What’s unique about what we do at the Center is that the projects our students are involved in can provide immediate value,” said Chris Anderson, Dow Innovation Center manager through August 2014. “The work being done by the students is tied to research projects that will directly benefit Dow’s R&D community when completed.”

Women in Tech 2015

The second annual Women in Tech Luncheon took place on May 22, 2015 in the EnterpriseWorks Atrium. Women in the Champaign-Urbana community came together to share and discuss their own experiences as well as empowering women in the technology industry. This year the guest keynote speaker was Anna Yershova, a research scientist and computer science professor. View her speech here.

Caterpillar Data Innovation Lab Opening

Caterpillar’s Data Innovation Lab opened at the University of Illinois Research Park on February 19, 2015. The company’s Champaign location focuses on data-driven projects to research and prove out concepts that the business may use. University of Illinois students work in data analytics, application development, and more. Working in this agile project management environment allows interns to gain experience in a collaborative and inclusive workplace.

Ameren Innovation Center Grand Opening

The Ameren Innovation Center opened its doors at the University of Illinois Research Park on February 10, 2015. The Champaign location’s goal is to support an exploratory environment that focuses on innovations to help Ameren better meet the future needs of its customers. “We also hope to develop a talent pipeline to help us continue to build a skilled workforce. This is important as we transition to smart grid technologies and explore future new energy services that may be wanted and needed by our customers,” said Mary Heger, Vice President of Information Technology and Ameren Services Center’s Chief Information Officer.

Caterpillar 15-Year Celebration

Caterpillar Inc., a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, gas engines, turbines, celebrates 15 years of their Champaign Simulation Center at the Research Park.   Over the years they have reached milestones and expanded their team to 100+ students and workers.  In celebration, they created a new data analytics lab to support their innovation strategy.
