This year was the Fifth annual Innovation Celebration, on Thursday February 25, 2010. Innovation Celebration recognizes those individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions, taken risks, and provided leadership to ensure the continuing economic success of Champaign County, the ongoing success of the University’s economic development mission, and the growth of entrepreneurial talent and energy in our community.

What do the founders of Delta Airlines, You Tube, BET, and The Pampered Chef have in common? They all went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


Three EnterpriseWorks firms are competing in the Cozad Business Plan Competition. An impressive group of 40 student founded companies competed the last two weeks in the Cozad Elevator Pitch round of the competition. Congratulations to Nucleon Biotechnology, EnvirGen, and Orange QC for doing a great job presenting and making it to the written portion of the competition.


Yahoo in the Research Park is recognizing their engineering staff who have submitted patents and published papers in academic journals. Their team is working on many innovations that will help advance Yahoo and provide improvements for users and advertisers. Impressive work!
