About the role 

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer III to prototype, develop, and integrate functional and security capabilities for new and existing Linux-based products. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in a positive and creative work environment that offers excellent benefits and flexible schedules.

What will you do? 

Design, implement, and debug new capabilities for our security focused products including our Linux-based Trusted Thin Client.  Learn additional development stacks to debug and design software for secure environments, IPSec/VPN networking, and management modules.  Additional tasks may include Linux/OS packaging, SELinux security policy & various distributed network-centric operating system and kernel services.

Qualifications 

• Ability to obtain a US-government-issued Secret security clearance 
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related, or equivalent experience 
• 4+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade software 
• Comfortable developing production software in Python and in C or C++ 
• Strong experience with software development in Linux/UNIX environments using a variety of programming and scripting languages 
• Experience developing in complex client/server software architectures 
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP stack and protocols 
• Excellent verbal and written skills for communicating abstract and complex ideas

Helpful Skills 

• Familiarity with cybersecurity topics in software and networking 
• Developing Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) OS modules or software app development on SELinux 
• Linux Operating System installation, administration, and shell scripting 
• Familiarity with Linux virtualization technology 
• Developing in environment using containerization technologies 
• Integration of disparate software systems using open standards 
• Development of multi-threaded network applications 
• Distributed or clustered compute environments 
• Cryptographic interfaces, IPSec, and public key infrastructures 
• Software revision control and software configuration management tools 
• Agile methodologies, particularly, Scrum
