Projects can be self-planned and executed, giving the structure and flexibility to innovate. As these projects are new inventions, the data science role will also be skilled at presenting and describing their works in written form. Publications are expected to be created in the form of internal blog posts, intellectual property, industry papers, conference presentations or collaborations with universities. Responsibilities Envision new network (engineering) AI/ML projects and present well-formed ideas to the team. Utilize considerable creativity to merge ideation, knowledge of AI/ML model uses, insights from SMEs/translators and constraints to propose ML projects that are meaningful and actionable. Provide timelines, milestones, project plans and types of AI/ML models to be attempted for new prototype projects. Adapt and communicate needed changes as datasets, labels or models may not function as expected. Partner with team and non-team data scientists to teach complex concepts, assess project feasibility, select input features and validate project output. Envision and test for corner cases. Utilize large amounts of GPU effectively to train and attempt multiple models, documenting progress. Guide AI/ML projects with high autonomy so that they will be accepted by the business and SMEs who will use them. Pull sample data sets from NS tools and VGRID to attempt prototypes on new topics. Learn the wireless domain (5G/LTE, xLPT datasets, RF Planning, Orchestration, etc) and toolsets to better communicate and understand the needs of engineers for AI/ML automation. Publish blogs, create documentation, perform presentations, submit intellectual property write-ups and lead efforts for external publications. Present to SME groups such as the System Performance Core Team, the Assurance Core Team or Service Performance to explain, promote and request feedback on AI/ML project ideation and ongoing efforts. Support SMEs from WAIV when they present your work to engineers. You’ll Need To Have Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or four or more years of work experience. Six years of relevant work experience. Skilled in Python, Linux Shell, Sci Kit Learn, and standard AI/ML models. Even Better If You Have Masters/PhD in Statistics, Math, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field. Broad experience in training multiple types of AI/ML models such as KNN, and XGBoost, CNN/RNN, reinforcement learning, deep learning models, GANs, etc. Knowledge of Relational databases in SQL or R. Previous experience in wireless networking is a plus. Recognized as a contributor to Software Organized Networks (SON) platforms. SUMMARY Genective, a JV between two leading global seeds companies, Limagrain and KWS, is seeking a Head of Research Entomology, expert in insect biochemistry/molecular entomology, to join our growing team in the U.S. This team leader will coordinate and expand our research activities on protein pesticidal mode of action reporting. This position reports to the VP-Research & CSO and is part of the Research Leadership Team that oversees Genective’s from gene to the field research pipeline. THE POSITION As a direct report to the VP-Research & CSO, the Head of Research Entomology is accountable for coordinating and consolidating Genective’s efforts on pesticidal proteins mode of action. Additional Responsibilities As requested by the VP-Research & CSO QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: Ph.D. with a minimum 10 years industry experience in entomology, insect pest management, biotechnology, and/or, insect biochemistry/molecular biology. Hands-on experience designing and conducting laboratory insect bioassays. Experience with developing membrane binding assays and receptor characterization is considered a plus. Core competencies in molecular entomology, insect innate immunity, microbiology, and/or functional genomics. Extensive, hands-on experience developing an insect resistance management strategy. Demonstrated excellent English oral, written, presentation, and time management skills (peer-reviewed scientific publications are a strong plus). Ability to think critically, analyze and interpret data independently as well as work collaboratively in a diverse fast-paced and agile environment. The Recreational Marine EMI Principle Engineer Will Be Part Of Our Advanced Engineering Team Driving Impact And Expertise In The Application Of High Voltage (350+ VDC) Subsystems And Critical Components Across Brunswick. As a member of this team, you will support our product development teams company wide and engage with university research, national labs, and new technology suppliers to lead the assessment and application of advanced electric drive technologies suitable for marine applications. The Successful Recreational Marine EMI Principle Engineer: Interfaces with research institutions to solve marine focused electrification challenges Sets the standard across the enterprise for design, test, and production validation and service Trains and mentors talented engineers at both the innovation center and across the enterprise Develops and defines complete electric vessel systems, subsystems, and components through system-level design concepts that meet the customers’ needs Coordinate vessel-level system activities with the support of a cross-divisional team Works with all engineering disciplines needed to develop system requirements and architectures and establishes systems capabilities and operational concepts Spans all phases of the product development cycle, from concept development and system architecture to product launch and field support. Key Responsibilities: Specific activities include system architecture design, competitive analysis, intellectual property management, product specification development, requirement definition, performance analysis, simulation, systems modeling, simulation tool development and support for hardware design, manufacturing, integration, and test departments. Develop team capability to support future cost-effective electrification development Understand and execute tradeoff studies between available technology solutions Required Experience/Skills: MS in engineering with PhD in electric drive related disciplines strongly preferred Strong knowledge of high voltage (350V+) power electronics and/or electric drive integration Fifteen or more years in engineering related to electric propulsion and/or energy storage systems Experience delivering multiple electric vehicle projects to an OEM Recent hands-on experience in the areas of systems integration, product verification and validation of large, complex systems into a multi-national organization Competency in coordinating cross divisional activities Preferred Experience/Skills: Knowledge of electrical safety standards Experience performing competitive analysis either internally or through 3rd party engineering firms Aptitude for evaluating sourcing options for technically proficiency and partnership potential Ability to evaluate system architecture trade-offs This position will be based out of the Brunswick i-Jet Lab in Research Park on the UIUC (University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign) campus.  We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
