The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have a passion for all aspects of communications. Job Description The primary project for the Summer 2024 Communications Intern will be to create professional quality recruiting videos for the Research Park-UIUC office. In addition to this, responsibilities include: Serve as the official photographer for all events, taking high quality pictures suitable for all communications and social media platforms. Propose, document and Implement a strategy for internal and external communications to portray the work that is being done here at Research Park, including communication blitzes in coordination with key recruiting events and staffing needs. Documentation should include a calendar of all planned communication events. Communicate news and updates about the innovation center on the site director’s and communication intern’s personal LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and/or TikTok channels. Visual Designer (IRAP Co-op) – Abbvie

Position Description: Information Research (IR) is the technology group that supports businesses across AbbVie’s R&D value chain. IR Academic Partnerships (IRAP) embeds students within AbbVie businesses to collaborate on projects that help advance our science. During the regular fall and winter/spring terms, this program is designed for students to work 12-15 hours/week in parallel with their school schedule. During the summer, students are expected to work 35-40 hours/week. We are seeking a visual designer to work with a variety of AbbVie internal businesses on a range of creative projects. 2023- 2024 Winter Internship – Epivara

Veterinary Medical Device Design Epivara, a research-oriented company located in the University of Illinois’ Research Park, specializes in creating injectable sterilants for companion and livestock animals. We are nearing the final stages of developing products aimed at female dogs and boars raised for meat production. Additionally, we are exploring products for larger livestock and broadening our technology to encompass both female and male animals. We are looking for a talented and motivated intern to join our team and work on developing a novel drug delivery device. This device is intended to safely and effectively deliver slow-release implants to various target species. The intern’s role will encompass diverse facets of device development, including design, manufacturing, testing, and refinement. This position also offers the chance to work alongside Epivara’s scientists, providing valuable insights into the process of drug development. Being part of the Research Park, the successful applicant will also have the opportunity to attend professional development seminars and network with other biotech startups. Qualifications and Requirements The ideal candidate for this internship should have: A background in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Experience or interest in drug delivery and animal biology. Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360. Familiarity with fabrication techniques, such as 3D printing, laser cutting, or photolithography. Ability to work independently and in a team, with good communication and problem-solving skills. BASIC FUNCTION The intern/co-op/student would act in a supporting role for research & design of computer science engineering functions including (not limited to) programming languages and software engineering. Primarily working with Ignition – an industrial tool used in manufacturing, employing SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) principles.
