Assembly and Fabrication Technician – Hinetics

Since being founded in 2017, Hinetics has experienced rapid growth as a company and to scale with the number of projects being taken on to electrify aircraft motors, the company is hiring for various manufacturing positions. They are looking for part and full-time technicians to assist our test and design engineers with hands-on, in-house motor manufacturing tasks including fabrication and machining.

Responsibilities:

• Participating in motor manufacturing and assembly in our in-house lab
• Assisting in qualification tests of electric motors
• Communicating with outside machinists to build devices needed for testing
• Documenting design process and modifications
• Creating BOMs and ordering materials needed by projects currently underway

Essential Qualifications:

• Hands-on assembly/fabrication or laboratory experience or academic certification of a similar degree
• Understanding and ability to work with hand and power tools
• Understanding of lab safety in a high-voltage environment
• Interest in rotary electric machinery
• Strong communication skills
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to work in person from our laboratory in Champaign, IL

Desired Attributes:

• Experience with 3D printing
• Experience machining metal parts and GD&T
• Experience with CAD design of parts and engineering drawing creation
• Understanding of powered electric machinery
