Xerion Advanced Battery Corp. (XABC) develops advanced batteries through a nanostructured electrode architecture, called StructurePoreTM. StructurePoreTM enables high power, high-capacity batteries with enhanced safety and cycle life, all at a reduced cost. This combination of properties is applicable to a wide range of industries, most notably the automotive and utility industries.
Xerion Advanced Battery was founded in 2010 by Paul Braun, John Busbee, and Chris Kolb. Braun earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before going on to be a professor in the same department. Busbee also holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in Materials Science and Engineering.

After graduating from EnterpriseWorks in 2017, Xerion Advanced Battery opened its corporate headquarters in Kettering, Ohio.
