Seidel Named Vice President for Economic Development and Innovation

CHAMPAIGN– Ed Seidel has agreed to serve as Vice President for Economic Development and Innovation for the University of Illinois System, pending Board of Trustees approval. Seidel began his role on April 16. He is an award-winning researcher that plans to foster economic growth. The Research Park is a unit under the OVPR’s office. 

University of Illinois System President Tim Killeen said, “Ed’s personal experience with leading-edge research and with federal and international agencies– combined with his deep understanding of the U of I System’s capabilities and aspirations– has given a rock-solid foundation for success. He’s off to a flying start.”
