Research Park Open House draws crowd

Research Park’s Open House made waves througout Champaign-Urbana this weekend, drawing members of the community to the EnterpriseWorks building to leard more about the entrepreneurial hub.

Wrote The Daily Illini: “The open house was primarily located in the EnterpriseWorks Incubator building. While close to 90 companies operate in different buildings throughout Research Park, the EnterpriseWorks Incubator alone houses over 45 companies…Many original and enterprising products were on display in the atrium of the EnterpriseWorks building.”

Along with product demonstrations in the EnterpriseWorks atrium, Research Park also offered golf-cart tours of its campus to those in attendance. 

Following the open house, Research Park hosted Outside at Research Park, its annual summer concert series. 

Wrote the News-Gazette: “The concert, presented by Krannert Center for the Performing Arts with the UI Research and Fox/Atkins Development, [featured] opening act Tara Terra at 6:30 p.m., performing pop-rock with folk and jazz thrown into the mix. Headliner Della Mae, at 7:30 p.m., is an Americana act whose 2013 breakthrough album, ‘This World Oft Can Be,’ received a Grammy nomination.”

Despite inclemate weather, Outside Research Park saw a huge turnout. Wrote The Daily Illini: “The performances drew a large crowd despite unfavorable weather conditions involving a thunderstorm hours earlier.”
