Research Park Development Partner Atkins Provides Gift for Baseball Training Center

The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics will break ground on a state-of-the-art indoor practice facility for the Fighting Illini baseball program thanks to a $3 million donation by Suzie Atkins. The new facility will take the name of the Susan and Clint Atkins Baseball Training Center.

The Atkins family has also significantly influenced the University of Illinois Research Park due to the Fox/Atkins partnership developed in 2000. This partnership was responsible for transforming the Research Park land from fish ponds, agricultural fields and livestock barns to a thriving environment for the modern tech workforce.
