Research Park Recruiter-in-Residence Sophie Roney has been working with companies and employees on the impact of layoffs, furloughs, and changing economic conditions. On May 7, she provided an extensive assessment of tech jobs during COVID-19, startup employment and impact, and tools and strategies for employers to persevere. Download her slides and research here.

A recording of her first presentation from April 30 is available here. She will be providing a free webinar on strategies for tech job seekers on May 21, from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM.

The University of Illinois Career Center has been busy navigating the impact on COVID-19 and the economy on student employment. On May 6, Director Jennifer Neef provided Research Park corporate innovation centers with a review of last year’s University of Illinois student job placement, salaries, and top employers.

She also provided an update on how employers are responding this summer to remote work, internships, and job offers previously made to students. Download her slides here and watch a recording here.

We are grateful to the many Research Park corporate operations that have been accommodating student internships remotely and continuing to leverage the talent of University of Illinois students.
