About the Role

Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between December 2025 through May 2027.

The Data Engineering Intern will work through large amounts of data that are collected during hardware validation, manufacturing, and while on vehicles. The goal will be to find 3-5 top use cases within the Electrical Hardware organization and complete the required effort to get from raw data to aggregated data to dashboards and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Identify the top 3-5 use cases
• Develop the framework for collecting data and processing it
• Create dashboards that present the data to various stakeholders

Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
• Actively pursuing a degree in or one closely related to Data Science or Engineering
• Experience in programming in Python and SQL
• Experience with Relational Databases and Statistics 
• Experience with any of the following Big Data technologies: Databricks, Apache Spark  
• Must be located in Champaign, IL, and able to work out of our office in the Research Park
• Must be available for 40 hours in the summer and 20 hours per week in the Fall and Spring
