As a Co-Op in the Advanced Process team, you will develop and enhance your process engineering skills within Kohler Co. Ideal candidates are those who thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy team collaboration.

The timing for this position is starting January 2024 – May2024 at the Kohler Innovation Center @ University of Illinois Research Park, then transitioning to an in-person CoOp at Kohler, WI from June 2024 – December 2024.

Specific Responsibilities

Materials Innovation

  • Contribute to materials innovation projects, exploring PVD, thin films, and new coating technologies

Creative Problem-Solving:

  • Apply engineering skills to creatively address challenges in materials development and coating techniques.

Hands-On Application:

  • Gain practical experience applying thin films and refining processes, including PVD and coatings.

R&D Support:

  • Support ongoing research and development initiatives, contributing to advancements in materials engineering

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Current enrollment in an ABET accredited Materials, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering discipline or related field, preferably Junior academic status or higher.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Additional skills sought include high attention to detail, hands-on approach, solid oral and written communication and personal interactions skills, and the ability to work on and complete multiple tasks in a timely fashion.
