Software Developer Intern

About the Role

Our engineering team in Champaign, Illinois is seeking talented undergraduate and graduate students to tackle a variety of projects for clients across the financial services and capital markets landscape.

As a Software Developer Intern, you’ll work in a group on large-scale, high-performance systems that power critical trading and risk workflows. Experience with Java, C#, Python, Rust, or C++ is ideal, as is an interest in financial engineering or capital markets systems.

What You’ll Do

• Work on focused projects / feature development for financial trade processing, risk management, or data integration products.
• Collaborate closely with quantitative and data engineering teams to enhance system performance and scalability.
• Contribute to automation and tooling to increase system reliability and reduce latency.

What We’re Looking For

• Programming Expertise: Experience in Java, C#, C++, Python, Rust, or another complex programming language. Real-world experience is preferred but not required.
• Domain Knowledge: Interest or background in financial services, trading systems, or quantitative software.
• Education: Active pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science or a related degree program. 2+ years of undergraduate education Computer Science or a related major. Current undergraduate GPA of 3.5+ (on a 4-point scale).
• Mindset: Analytical, curious, and self-directed, with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
