About the Role
Looking for real-world engineering experience this summer? Cygnus Photonics (cygnusphoton.com) is hiring. We’re a locally based startup that designs and manufactures cutting-edge 172 nm VUV light sources for advanced photochemistry and microfabrication applications.
The role begins as a part-time position during the spring semester and transitions into a full-time paid summer internship, with the option to continue part-time during the academic year. We’re looking for at least a one-year commitment.
Mechanical and electrical engineering majors are typical applicants, but other engineering disciplines are welcome.
Responsibilities
This is not a coffee-and-spreadsheet internship. You’ll start with hands-on technical assembly and testing, then grow into owning real engineering projects as you gain experience. We’re a small, close-knit team solving challenging technical problems, and we value curiosity, reliability, and people who want to build something meaningful.
Requirements
To apply, Email Joe Maduzia (jmaduzia@cygnusphoton.com) with a short introduction and resume. Interviews will begin immediately.
