Caterpillar’s Wheel Product Engineering Division is currently seeking Sr. Engineer in system structural simulation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to direct and contribute to the concept, development, and design of complex components, subsystems, or processes while strengthening your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts.

What You Will Do

Provide machine-level dynamic simulation support for current product line and new product development programs

Provide L4 structural simulation to achieve durability targets for new product development programs

Provide data processing of test data for the objective of validating model simulations

Provide Python scripting for automated data processing, visualizations and machine learning

Support product health organization using technical expertise and product knowledge in addressing machine CPI and customer issues

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an accredited mechanical based Engineering curriculum and 3+ years’ relevant progressive engineering work experience

OR Master’s degree in an accredited mechanical based Engineering curriculum and 1+ year of relevant progressive engineering work experience 

Top Candidates Will Also Have

Proficiency with L6 machine simulations and flexible body dynamics

Proficiency with FE simulations and fatigue analysis

Proficiency with Python scripting for automated data processing

Proficiency with machine learning algorithms

The location for this position is Champaign, IL
