LifeFoundry consists of engineers who work to enable microorganisms, as cell factories, to produce value-added chemicals from low-cost renewable feedstocks like corn and sugar cane. To create desired traits in these industrial microorganisms, LifeFoundry leverages its fully-automated robotic platform and a proprietary machine-learning algorithm to explore the vast number of genomic configurations. LifeFoundry is currently working with Fortune 500 companies to expedite R&D and optimize existing bioproduction processes.
LifeFoundry was founded by Ran Chao, a former research assistant, and University of Illinois Urbana Champaign alumni.
