Motorola Solutions has announced the expansion of its college campus innovation center at the University of Illinois Research Park.The innovation center employs undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of backgrounds and talents to focus on developing products, applications and services in key growth areas, including command center software and video security and analytics.
“We are excited to enhance our commitment to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a top-tier engineering university and a major source of our engineering talent pipeline” said Scott Mottonen, senior vice president, Products, Motorola Solutions.
This new expansion increases intern capacity by 50% and includes a dedicated recreation and respite area for interns. The Motorola Solutions Research Park facility opened in the Fall 2019 semester and has employed over 100 interns at the facility since its inception.
The team is managed by site director Craig Ibbotson, distinguished member of the technical staff, Motorola Solutions and computer science alumnus of the University of Illinois.
