Research Park Hackathon

This one-day summer hackathon is a team competition open to anyone working for an organization located within the Research Park or EnterpriseWorks. It is an exciting and fast-paced event where teams can create together. New and experienced employees are all invited to participate in this free event.

Past Winners

  • 2024 | Capital One‘s “Class Connect” won the 2024 Research Park Hackathon on Thursday, June 27, 2024. This Hackathon was bring-your-own-data-themed and happened on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
  • 2023 | Rivian‘s “Rivian Adventure” won the 2023 Research Park Hackathon on Thursday, July 20, 2023. This Hackathon was Retro Video Game-themed and happened on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

Team Formation

  • Teams are comprised of 3-6 individuals.
  • Teams may have up to one full-time employee, the rest must be interns.
  • Individuals from the same company are expected to form teams together.
  • Companies may have multiple teams participating in the Hackathon.
  • Individual registration is available; individual registrants will be assigned to teams on the morning of the Hackathon.

Recommended Skillsets

The Research Park Hackathon is designed so individuals from all backgrounds can meaningfully contribute to a team. Teams will especially benefit from the following skills:

  • Company/Industry Knowledge

2024 Hackathon Schedule

Wednesday, June 26

8:30 AM: Breakfast and Hackathon Prompt Introduction @ EnterpriseWorks Atrium

9:00 AM: Open Hacking Begins @ various Research Park locations

12:00 PM to 1:00 PM: Lunch provided for all participants @ EnterpriseWorks Atrium

3:00 PM to 4:00 PM: Power Hour with Mentorship & Refreshments @ EnterpriseWorks Room 130

11:59 PM: Submission Deadline

Thursday, June 27

10:00 AM: Finalists announced via email

12:00 PM to 12:45 PM: Finalist presentations @ EnterpriseWorks Atrium

5:00 PM: Winners announced at Fire @ Five
