Research Park Block Party

Research Park’s annual Block Party fosters relationships between students and employers through an informal, career fair-like setting. 

Students are invited to come as they are for networking, lawn games, and pizza. This event is held outside on the Atkins Building Lawn & Patio, behind the building located at 1800 S. Oak Street. The patio faces First Street and the I-Hotel and Conference Center.

What is Block Party?

Block Party is the Research Park’s largest fall networking event where students can informally meet with companies, explore internship opportunities, and learn about full-time job options in a relaxed, and fun environment.

University of Illinois students, Research Park companies and their employees attend to meet students in a relaxed setting, share information about their work and organizations, and build connections within the university community.

The Research Park at the University of Illinois is a leading technology hub that cultivates startups and accelerates corporate innovation. Located on the southern part of campus and situated in a park-like setting, it has 18 buildings with offices, labs, and more.

The Research Park is home to around 120 companies and is constantly growing.

Over 800 student interns work gaining valuable experiences and making real contributions to companies within the Research Park.
