Job Summary:
Tiptek is seeking a student intern (SI) for Summer 2025. This individual will gain relevant experience for those interested in the semiconductor industry and will be responsible for the electrochemical production and quality assessment of precision small metal parts for use in semiconductor failure analysis.
The SI will implement and operate an electrochemical process. This position requires working effectively in a small team environment and performing standard operating procedures to strict quality standards. The SI is responsible for the safe handling chemical etching solutions, performing product quality-control assessments, and tracking inventory. The SI will be trained to verify and characterize Tiptek products via scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and will be cross trained in certain other company production operations.
Basic Skills and Qualifications:
- Pursuing or holding a B.S. degree, preferably in chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, materials science or engineering, engineering, or a related technical area.
- Experience working in a science or engineering laboratory preferred, especially familiarity with protocols for safe handling and disposal of chemicals.
- Experience with SEM desired but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Follow established methods, safety policies, standard operating procedures, and other provided instructions.
- Manage multiple, several step tasks while paying close attention to detail.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Prepare chemical solutions and handle reagents safely.
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping duties including cleaning and maintaining glassware and laboratory equipment.
- Characterize and qualify products via scanning electron microscopy.
- Monitor equipment performance by performing quality checks at specified intervals.
- Work in a small team environment.
- Document procedures, label, and record inventory data.
- Other duties as assigned.
