EnterpriseWorks startup Xerion Advanced Battery was profiled on the front page of today’s Daily Illini. The company is commercializing next generation battery technology developed by Prof. Paul Braun, a Materials Science and Engineering faculty member.
Because of the porous quality of the new electrode structure developed by Braun’s research team, lithium ions necessary to charge a battery can move more quickly through the battery, charging it much faster than the current battery structure on the market.
