About the Role

Applied Pavement Technology, Inc (APTech) is seeking two Engineering Technicians to join its team of skilled technicians responsible for operating and maintaining specialized pavement testing equipment. Engineering Technicians support Civil Engineers in facilitating field data collection activities, conducting pavement testing assessments, and supporting other project-related work.

Responsibilities

These full-time positions will require multi-day travel and occasional night work. Engineering Technicians will receive paid travel expenses and per diem allowance for meals. Engineering Technicians are responsible for:

  • Conducting pavement inspections.
  • Creating and updating two-dimensional mappings.
  • Managing database developments and indexing.
  • Operating and maintaining testing equipment.

APTech will train and develop successful applicants on the operation and use of the following specialized testing equipment:

  • Falling weight deflectometers.
  • Coring rigs.
  • Automated distress data collection vehicles.

Requirements

Preference will be given to individuals with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as from a construction, Geography, Surveying, or engineering technician program). Other qualifications include:

    • Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Knowledge of MicroStation CAD software is a plus.
    • Good overall computer usage skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Good communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
    • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
