About Epivara Epivara (Epivara.com), located in the UIUC Research Park, is seeking undergraduate or veterinary students to assist with ongoing studies. This paid position, qualifies for the ANSC398 experiential learning requirement. Research is conducted at the Imported Swine Research Lab, Swine Research Center, Beef and Sheep Research Field Lab, Meat Science Lab, Animal Science Animal Facility or other local farms. Responsibilities include assisting with animal handling, weighing, blood collection, and examinations, year-round, including university breaks. Responsibilities Restrain, monitor, and weigh animals. Support research procedures such as injections, sample collection, and imaging. Prepare supplies for animal work. Comply with institutional animal care and use protocols, biosafety standards, and ethical guidelines. Communicate with supervisor. Qualifications Demonstrated interest in animal research and reproductive biology. Prior laboratory or animal handling experience preferred but not required; training will be provided. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to follow established protocols. Physical ability to handle animals of various sizes (including pigs, cattle, dogs, cats) safely. Flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings or weekends. Learning Opportunities Practical training in animal handling, sample collection, and research protocols. Exposure to reproductive science research in translational animal models. Experience with animal welfare standards (IACUC/AAALAC). Work Hours: 1–15 hours/week, depending on staffing needs and study schedules.
