About the Role

The intern will work closely with the StructureIQ team on the development of a web-based dashboard for StructureIQ’s IoT-based civil infrastructure monitoring service. The internship will involve contributing to the development of a robust, secure, and performant data visualization and system control web interface starting with a fully-functional prototype. The focus of this internship will be back-end development rather than UI/UX.

Responsibilities

• Study the functionality and implementation of the existing web UI prototype (implemented in Python using Flask)
• Reimplement prototype functionality in a robust, scalable, modular, and secure fashion
• Work with StructureIQ team to test and validate new dashboard functionality

Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Must be enrolled at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
• Must be available to work 25-40 hours during the summer
• Located in Champaign-Urbana and able to work at StructureIQ’s Champaign office
• Experience with Python, MySQL, Apache
• Experience with Flask and InfluxDB preferred
