About the Role

APTech has up to six (6) immediate openings for hard-working, well-organized Engineering Interns to work on a variety of airport and roadway projects. These temporary positions will be located in APTech’s corporate office in Champaign, Illinois. These will require occasional multi-day travel. Engineering Interns support Civil engineers in facilitating field data collection activities, conducting pavement testing assessments, and supporting other project-related work across the United States.

Responsibilities

Engineering Interns are responsible for:

• Conducting pavement inspections.
• Creating and updating two-dimensional mappings.
• Managing database developments and indexing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), experience with Structured Query Language (SQL), and good overall computer hardware and software skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Flexibility to travel, work weekends, and overtime as necessary.
• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus.

Requirements

• Course work or a degree in civil engineering, with a concentration in transportation materials.
• Knowledge of pavement materials and pavement design and construction practices.
• GIS and AutoCAD experience

Compensation

$21 to $23 per hour. Engineering interns will receive paid travel expenses and per diem allowance for meals.
