Interview with Bob Coverdill, Airscout’s COO, Featured on WCIA

Airscout is an attempt to provide farmers alerts on their field’s conditions by monitoring crop health from the sky. The company’s Chief Operating Officer, Bob Coverdill, sat down with ciLiving Storyteller, Erin Valle, on the WCIA network to talk about the imagery and thermal maps captured by Airscout pilots.

Coverdill states that to account for the farmers’ diminished ability to walk through their own big fields, Airscout’s aerial imagery enables farmers to take a virtual walk.

Coverdill talks about Airscout’s biggest enemy — clouds — in this interview as well. They can obscure the imagery and temperature variations of the crop, and these two factors are key to understanding where the stress problems in the field lie.
