Inprentus, a 2017 EnterpriseWorks graduate, was chosen to provide China’s SHINE X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL) facility with a cylindrical variable line space blazed diffraction grating. According to PRWeb on February 5, 2020, the Champaign-based company was selected because it is able to manufacture “curved surface diffraction gratings with high line densities and high optical efficiency.”
Although the SHINE facility will be located in Shanghai, China, Inprentus is familiar with working with a variety of clients from multiple locations, including Fortune 500 companies and academic institutions. It was founded in 2012 by University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign physics professor Peter Abbamonte in order to commercialize dual-atomic microscope scribing technology. Currently, Inprentus has customers in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
