About The Role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for an IT Leader! In this role, you will identify talent and guide them through complex, innovative solution delivery that helps drive its Enterprise Data & Analytics strategy and capabilities forward.
This position will be located ON CAMPUS FULL TIME at the University of Illinois Research Park in Champaign, IL.
In this role, you will serve as the Site Director and will be responsible for working with U of I academic and administrative leaders as well as with internal Dow stakeholders to deliver innovative data & analytics solutions as part of the company’s Enterprise Data & Analytics organization. As an IT Leader for Research Park, your primary focus areas will be identifying and recruiting talented students, guiding the students through their work, and managing the facility. In this role, you will be focused on building the Dow brand on campus throughout the year and assisting with university recruiting activities while mentoring and guiding students through the innovation lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Connect with Dow Enterprise Data & Analytics leaders to identify, prioritize, and scope project opportunities based on student workload capacity.
- Lead projects to meet business outcomes, timelines, and objectives.
- Engage with the Research Park to manage daily operations of the facility.
- Lead campus recruiting efforts to create a rich student and faculty talent pool leveraging new research park and university department relationships.
- Manage communications, events, and campaigns to raise Dow brand awareness.
- Connect with Dow talent management teams to develop and connect talent to opportunities across Dow.
- Work with Dow teams to shape business requirements and provide ongoing communication through project execution.
- Facilitate and coordinate peer-to-peer learning to drive learning best practices from other leading corporations that have established offices in the Research Park.
- Ensure technical, architecture, and application designs align to company IT architecture and security standards.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, or at least 12 years of relevant working experience or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience.
- Prior experience leading teams in a direct management role.
- A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills
- Degree in IT or related discipline.
- Prior experience in data & analytics contexts, such as data science, data engineering, or ML Engineering.
- Experience leading product development.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Agile software development methodologies and work processes, especially Scrum .
- Experience with technically complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Demonstrated ability to be successful in ambiguous situations and a fast paced and changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence and communicate at all levels of the global organization and cross-function/platform.
- Experience leading innovation centers.
- Proficient knowledge of various cloud services from Microsoft Azure .
