Who are we?

Hourglass Medical is a startup that is revolutionizing human computer interaction (HCI) and developing next-gen technology that reimagines how people access and interact with electronic devices in the areas of telemedicine, assistive devices, and extended reality.

We’re a small team located at Research Park that was born out of a well-established local company. We’re growing quickly and looking to hire mechanical engineering interns for this summer and fall.

What will you work on?

  • Researching concepts for mechanical systems for advanced wearables
  • Designing and creating 3D CAD models of new concepts (using SolidWorks)
  • Printing and testing parts using the latest rapid prototyping technology
  • Developing test plans and methods to ensure parts meet specifications
  • Devising mechanical engineering processes and procedures to ensure revision control and part quality
  • Troubleshooting mechanical problems and crafting creative solutions

Are you ready?

We’re looking for…

  • Self-driven engineer who can unravel a complex problem and develop a clear plan of action
  • Assertive inventor willing to take a bold approach to overcome design challenges
  • Confident individual willing to incorporate ideas from a broader technology team
  • Undergraduate or graduate engineering student
  • Must have experience with 3D Cad modeling software
  • PCB and programming experience are nice to have but not required

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship
