After last summer’s move to the University of Illinois Research Park, the Illinois Applied Research Institute has experienced substantial growth. The new 5,000 square foot space in the Sony building has enabled them to take steps toward a more integrated engineering design.

Jeff Binder, nuclear engineer and Director of the Applied Research Lab, foresees expansion of laboratory space in the near future that will support light manufacturing and building of prototypes.
